It's been a stressful and sad week. I can't quite bring myself to write about what it's been like to know that sweet little Darlens in no longer here on this earth with us. I know he's running and smiling in heaven, but right now it's really hard to know he's not here and it hurts a lot.
Before we learned of his death yesterday, we took a huge step forward in our adoption process. Our homestudy was finally completed and we were able to mail a ton of paperwork to USCIS to get official approval from the government to adopt internationally from Haiti. They will look over all of our homestudy and paper work and then send us an appointment to get our fingerprints taken. Hopefully soon after that we will have approval.
In the meantime we are frantically finishing our dossier so it's ready to go to Haiti. We have filled out every form known to man and we only have a few more things to complete before everything can get state sealed and translated to go to Haiti.
Thankful to have moved one step forward.
